REVELATION 4 Listen to the Podcast Here
Last week we heard about the most important part of Revelation…What God had to say to the Churches and were told if we had an ear to listen, then do it. Today’s Episode will cover the beginning of Chapter 4, the Rapture!
Reminder of the outline that God gave for this book chpater 1:4
It was John speaking to the seven churches sending grace and peace from Him
Which is. (A paraphrase of the great I AM)
Which was (the past)
And which is to come. (The Future)
In the ESV Version 4:1
After this I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven! And the first voice, which I had heard speaking to me like a trumpet, said, “Come up here, and I will show you must take place after this.”
At once I was in the Spirit and behold, a throne stood in heaven with one seated on the throne.
Did you catch that? According to the scripture we just read, the Rapture was put into God’s timeline of History for mankind.
If you missed it, lemma essplain
When my brother and sister and I were visiting our Grandfather in Germany, way too many years to mention, we were standing around waiting for a bus, while we overheard a conversation in English.
In English I asked the couple if there was anything we could do to help.
He replied in English telling me he was trying to confirm the correct bus headed in his direction, but he was Polish and only knew how to speak Polish and English. After getting his info and question, I asked around in German for the info we needed and had them on their bus just in the Nic of time. It only took three languages before things became clear.
Yes, that was an important rabbit trail. Most of us read our Bible in English. I read the first verse in the English Standard Version, a simpler version to understand than the KJV. I love the beauty of the KJV, but I understand that we don’t all go around speaking like Shakespeare anymore.
Whatever American translation you are reading from, was translated from the original languages…Hebrew, Greek, and Aramaic.
No I don’t speak those languages, and don’t even begin to be an expert in translating. However since I speak German as well as English, I do understand that sometimes the translation of words or phrases are not clear cut and need a little understanding. For example, I grew up asking for an “untersetzt” at very important moments. At home with the family they understood, however if I was at someone else place, they didn’t always help quickly enough. So my mind would have to do the translation out loud. I need and untersetzt! The thing that sits under. The thing that sits under this hot pot of spaghetti that will burn me very soon. I need a TRIVET! That’s it, I NEED a TRIVET! In my mind I had to translate from German to English to a borrowed word from French!
After these things, the things I just shared with you from my past, I am moving to the present to share more with you of what I have read and studied in the Bible. What I share on the subject of the Rapture is not meant to be taken to the point of using as ammunition in an arguement. These things that God has taught me through His word are made to comfort us with the thought of His return, not ne used as a weapon in warfare between other believers or a hammer when speaking with unbelievers.
In fact this is a great place to pivot for some support for this caution.
If we look into I Thessalonians. This book was written around AD 51 so it was written to a fairly young church of about 20 years, rather young in the eyes of many a believer. And yet, Paul takes the time to speak to them of what was an important matter. Some of those in the early church had died, and they had questions. Will my loved one be in heaven or not since they have missed the Coming of the Lord, His return that has not happened yet. Paul was clarifying what would happen in chapter 4, he did not want them to be ignorant due to lack of information regarding those who had already died.
For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the Archangel, and with the trump of God, and the dead in Christ shall rise first. Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air, and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore, comfort one another with these words.
A few things stand out to me here, how about you?
There are some today and in recent decades saying that we should remain in the gospels and leave Revelation alone, which is too difficult for the average person to understand, but Paul was clarifying the Coming of the Lord to them through these verses that were to bring them comfort.
This shows me that as believers in Jesus, we are to find comfort in reading Revelation as we look deeper into the coming of the Lord and how it all plays out. Now that grace and peace from John at the beginning of Revelation always came in that order. Grace first and then peace, for there is no peace with out the grace of God.
This passage also shows me that the caught up or snatching away of God;s children will not be a silent affair. There will be a voice like the Archangel, like the sound of a loud trumpet!
This trumpet is referring to the gathering of believers, but in the case of
Matthew 24:31 God sends angels pl. to gather all the elect at the end of the seven year tribulation period, known also as the 70th week of Daniel.
Thessalonians refers to the believers in Jesus that have already died
And Matthew refers to Jewish, living believers
In more modern English we read I Thess 4:13-18
13 But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. 14 For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep. 15 For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord,[d] that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore encourage one another with these words.
With a bit of a foundation regarding the doctrine of the Rapture, the snatching away or being caught up in His presence, we can continue on to Rev 4:1 with more insight.
In the ESV Version 4:1-2
After this I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven! And the first voice, which I had heard speaking to me like a trumpet, said, “Come up here, and I will show you must take place after this.”
At once I was in the Spirit and behold, a throne stood in heaven with one seated on the throne.
At this point we do not see the word Rapture in this passage or any other passage for that matter. However the doctrine of the Rapture is in the Bible, some of which we saw in I Thess.
Some scholars take this first verse of Revelation 4 and explain that after this, or after these things in the Greek Meta Taute, to English sounds something like being harpooned, translated to Latin and then English we get our word Rapture.
Some scholars say this verse is not to be used as support for the translation of the Rapture of the church here, because it’s a stretch and may cause some to disbelieve the Pre Trib Rapture case once they look into this.
Again, this is not for our intellectual sparring, but for our comfort.
When I come upon a passage that gives me trouble, or one that scholars have trouble agreeing on,
The Thessalonians were clearly looking forward to the imminent return of their savior. They were comforted with the thought of what their future held in Christ. They were not living in fear or dread of what was to come in the Great Tribulation. They were looking forward to the return of their savior Jesus, just like I am !!!!!!!!
Another point of comfort I see is that the young Thessalonian Church was finding comfort not only in Jesus return, but also of being taken with Him.
Again, if they were looking forward to comfort with being with Him, then this catching away would bring judgement and fear, they would not be comforted. There will be judgement at the Throne of God, but this is not the time.
There is another passage of scripture that helps us understand.
I Cor 15: starting at verse 51
Behold! I tell you a mystery, We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet: for the trumpet will sound and the dead shall be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed. For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality. When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immmotailty, then shall come to pass the saying that is written: Death is swallowed up in VICTORY.
Mystery, Through the idea of an imposed silence
Which is now being revealed! There will be some at the end of the Church age, the age of grace, that will not die before Jesus returns, and those that did die in Christ, those will once again be raised to life.
Oh death were is you victory?
Oh death where is your sting?
The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the Law.
But thanks be to God, who gives us the VICTORY through our Lord Jesus Christ.
There fore my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.
Now that’s another rally cry of comfort in Christ, through Victory over death!
Ok, so the body will die or be changed one day. We will trade in this earth suit for our heavenly suit and live with Jesus in heaven for ever!
Mystery is over! It has been revealed!
The conclusion of the matter here in Corinthians?
Paul loved the Corinthian church, but they were not living to their best potential in Christ, but instead chose to live in the flesh rather than choose to be pleasing to God. So the Apostle Paul in this chapter reminds them to be steadfast: to remain in the doctrines of the Gospel, in particular this doctrine fo the resurrection of the dead, to be fruitful, to do the work of the ministry, because God will not forget their labors and He is a rewarder of those who love and serve Him.
The Bible reminds us that no one will know the day or the hour of our Lords return for us, but we are supposed to watching, listening, and recognize the season. Just like when the snow finally begins to melt and Spring begins to blossom. At that seasonal change, I find myself looking for any small sign of change from the drab of winter to a bit of color in the branches, to those tiny leaves or blossoms beginning to pop up on the landscape.
After comparing these verses we can see the Rapture on the timeline of God
as a Pre-Trib Rapture point in the near future. The world stage is being set for the rest of what will be revealed in Revelation.
Now that we have looked at when, let’s take a look at why?
God has a divine purpose for His People Israel, and for the Church. The Church has been grafted into the Vine, which represents Christ. Those of in Christ share in the divine purpose of bringing others into the Kingdom of Heaven with us during this Age of the Church as we look expectantly for the Rapture.
God also has a purpose for Isreal. No the church has not replaced Israel. Israel is on a kind of time out, in the corner for not obeying God. So during this time God will use the spiritual children of Abraham, whether they be Jew or Gentile to spread His word and mission to reconcile souls to Himself.
Romans 11:25 tells us. Want you to understand this mystery brothers, a partial hardening has come upon Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in
(That is, until the full number of Gentiles who will be saved have, in fact become saved!)
So God has delayed the Kingdom plan for the Jews at this time, until all who will choose Jesus will do it.
The thousand year plan for Isreal, or the Millennial Kingdom of the Jews, on Earth, is postponed until the timeline of the Church has been fulfilled.
This is where it gets a bit more complicated to see in our minds eye because the Rapture is only the beginning of the fulfillment of the Church. After being Raptured from the Earth, to be in God’s presence, all those in christ who have lived in faith looking forward to the Messiah, all those who look back to the cross in faith, and all those tribulation saints on the earth that are martyred for their faith, will be The Bride of Christ and take part in activities in Heaven during the seven years of Tribulation that will poured out to those left on the earth after the Rapture.
During these last days of the Church Age, before the Millennium, God says there will be many false prophets, and false teachers that rise up that will try to deceive us.
We have a short time for the following:
Time to share the gospel
Time to repent
The claims I made in the section, I just finished sharing with you is based mostly in the rest of the Book of Revelation, so we will get into those deeper in the future. The rest of the section comes out of a study of the Covenents of the Bible Study we just finished here on Moments with Moni. If you have not gone through Biblical Covenant Series, I would suggest you walk through it with me before continuing through Revelation, as it will give you better insight God’s plans for different people groups and places, and it would take too much time to repeat it all here.
Of course you may not agree with what I have said, but If that is the case, then I would hope that your view is not based on what you have been told. Don’t take my word for all of this, it’s important for us to be responsible for our own salvation, and sanctification through the word of God.
So what does this spiritual season look like around us?
Some of the things I see working out on the worlds stage remind me of what to expect at the end of the Church Age, while I am looking forward to the Return of Jesus, in the air, with a loud trumpet sound.
This view is being mocked
2 Tim 3:1-7
You can listen to the Podcast Here: The Maiden's Story, An Audio Book
Welcome to another Friday Night Feature Story on Moments with Moni.
This past year we have studied our way through the Book of Song of Solomon. Now that we are done with the Podcast portion, I'd like to share an Audio Book Retelling of the Book of Song of Solomon that I wrote and finally recorded.
If you have read and studied thorugh SOS, you may see the Maiden and the Beloved in this Re-telling.
If you have not read the Book of SOS, I invite you to go through the SOS podcasts on Momentswithmoni. com to give you more insight into the story.
A quick note of insight into the retelling is a version in which the Maiden represents the individual believer in Jesus, and the Beloved represents Jesus.
During this Christmas Season, our hearts and minds turn towards the Christ Child, but don't remain there. He grew to be a man, a Savior that died for all of mankind, but He did not remain dead.
Song of Soloman offers the most beautiful love story ever written to us, while I have condensed and shortened the intensley intimate story.
Feel free to contact me on Facebook or the Blog with questions or comments.

An excerpt from the story:
All the world has to offer me does not compare to the intimacy of our relationship. Full assurance of my Beloved's forgiveness and grace brings peace and joy to my heart. When He draws me close I enjoy our time together, and rejoice for the promise of our future. Just the thought of Your name heals my soul. No wonder so many love You.
I realize my unworthiness before You and surrender my own will to Yours.
I am as dark as the black goat hair of the nomad tents in the desert, and yet to Him I am as beautiful as the embroidered curtains in Solomon's Temple. Others kept me hard at work on our vineyards and I had no time to care for myself as I should. I am weary from suffering at the hand of fellow believers who claim to be my family.
My heart cries out to You! Oh, where can I find rest?
As my Shepherd speaks He warns me to take care where I rest and learn of Him.
He encourages me to not sit among the false teachers or the false prophets for they are guided by their sensuality and because of them the way of truth will be reviled and distorted. As His fairest maiden, I am to remain close to His side and close to the flock.
My Beloved compares me to a company of Pharaoh's horses, which I am sure is a wonderful thing and not as bad as it sounds. He praises my strength and agility, and compares my beauty to that of jewels, gold and silver.
In the night, my Beloved is close to my heart as we commune in prayer. The fragrance of His presence surrounds me.
He is ravished with my beauty.
As the mourning dove sings to it's mate for life, I only have eyes for Him.
I am at home in Him.
The enemy surrounds me and it is a struggle to keep focused on my Beloved.
The thorns leave me injured. My weakness is ever apparent. As I bow in surrender to my Beloved and stand in Him I find strength. There are days that I am irritated or trampled, but thankful it is His sweet fragrance that fills the air as I am crushed.

Today’s Episode is on the last three of the seven churches of Revelation
Wether you are able to listen now or later, my prayer is that you digging deeper into God’s Word to find the treasures hidden within. Mine God’s Word as if you are mining for gold. For His Word is lamp to show us where and how to step and a Light that exposes darkness and all of it’s pitfalls
Last week we looked at the first four churches of Revelation. The sister Churches in Asia Minor who were sent a letter. That letter came from Jesus to the Angel to John to those in the seven churches to us today. God’s word transcends time and is a message to our hearts today.
If you missed the previous episodes you can find the links below.
The next church on the list is Sardis in Revelation 3:1-6
Last time I mentioned how important it is to be aware of the Historical and Geographical context of the scripture. It helps us see the writings of the Churches History, here in Revelation in the true light. If we just do the reading of the story and make a quick judgement based on our own thoughts, we miss the whole picture. Stories online or stories we read can be fairy tales in our minds eye, and dismissed as such. However, if you look at the Historical and Geographical aspects of these seven churches, we get a “3D” picture of Reality.
Think of reading one of your grandparents birth certificates. You get the story told to you from a piece of paper that was written by a person with the facts of the story. When you actually meet your grandparents, you get the Real 3D Picture. In a world of two demensional online research, we can be quick to make snap judgements with out knowing the historical and geographical background. So let’s take a look at a bit of the Historical and Geographical information of Sardis before we delve into the scripture to see what God has left us in His letters to us.
Sardis, once a part of an Ancient Persian Kingdom, Lydia, with a very polytheistic environment liberated in 340 B.C. Sardis means “escaping” and was one of the seven churches in the Roman Provence of Asia, or Modern Turkey, filled with worship of false gods. Sardis was known for it’s gold and wealth. The city was destroyed in the 16th century by the Persian Army.
John writes what Jesus told him to say to the church of Sardis.
Jesus revealed Himself to the Sardis church as ”One with the seven Spirits of God and seven stars in His hands” and quickly tells them, “ I know your works, that you have a name, a reputation of character and reveals it as one who is alive, but dead. Giving us a picture of a corpse who walks around.
The Commendation: Jesus says to those in Sardis, I know your works.Wake up, be watchful and remain strong in Me. Repent of your wicked works and watch of I will come as a thief in the night.
To the Overcomers of Sardis Jesus says you will be clothed in white raiment, and I will not erase your name out of the Book of Life. If you do these things, I will confess you before my Father. I will claim you as my own before my Father and before His Angels.
The Church of Philadelphia which means “brotherly love”
Thirty miles East of Sardis, and about 50 miles from Laodecia, was the church of Philadelphia, representing a faithful church. Founded in AD 17. It was the newest of the cities and almost destroyed by earthquakes in that same year. Philadelphia resisted Moslem take over, and became an island of Christianity.
Jesus revealed Himself to Philadelphia as He who has the Keys of David and He that opens the door that no one can shut, and what He shuts, no one can open. If you studied through the Covenant Series here on Moments with Moni, you might remember the Covenant with David that proclaimed a descendant of his would forever more sit on the throne for eternity. Yes, here is the fulfillment of the New Covenant. Through the death and resurrection of Jesus, He now holds the Keys to death and Hell, and is sitting at the right Hand of God, waiting until the time that God puts all of His enemies under his feet. His work is done, and He is waiting in Heaven
To the Church in Philadelphia Jesus says, I know your works and that you have just a little strength left. I also know that you have obeyed my Word and have not denied my name.
Jesus continues, and tells the church that I will take care of the satanists, and those who claim to be Jews, but are lying, and will make them bow at your feet, so that you know that I have loved you. “A sort of vindication before the self righteous “Spiritual persecutors.” Because you have kept my word patiently, I will keep you from the hour of temptation.
Most Bible Scholars see the hour of trial as prophetic reference to the Great Tribulation, on the timeline we are following here as just before the Earthly Kingdom. Jesus has promised to keep the faithful from that hour of trial.
For it will be a time when those who dwell on Earth will be tested. Mentioned nine times in Revelation, it refers to those who are not believers in Jesus.
And those who dwell on the earth will marvel, whose names are not written in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world. This test is for unbelievers, not Christians.
Christians are promised a different outcome through the Covenants. Even though we walk in the world, we are not of it. Our home is in the Heavenly places with Jesus.
There are some who believe a different time line, and you can study the options if you like such as Pre Trib, Mid Trib, Post Trib or Pan Trib (However it pans out)
It is best not to take the lazy way out and “Play it so called safe with the Pan Tribe view, because what we believe today will affect how we live our life right now.
To Philadelphia Jesus promises that He will come quickly. Translated into English a bit better would be sudden and unexpected, not nesscesarily immediately.
So until He returns, Hold Fast, so no one may take your crown of victory. Stay in the race. As was mentioned by our Pastor this past Sunday, that we may be running this race, or walking in this race, or maybe even just crawling, just keep going!
Let’s keep our eyes on the finish line.
To the Overcomers of Philadelphia Jesus promises that He will make them a pillar in the temple of our God and we will NEVER more go in or out. And He will write on them the name of our God and the name of the city of God, the New Jerusalem, which will come down out of Heaven and He says, I will write on him, My new name. One day, true believers will be Co-Heirs with Christ. Hallelujah!
And the Last of the Seven Churches of Revelation: Laodecia 3: 14-22
Laodecia means “People ruling” and represents the unbelieving, materialistic church. It was famous for wealth, banks, and medical school with popular eye salve and textile industry with the most luxurious black goats hair suits.
To this church, Jesus revealed Himself as the Amen, the Faithful True Witness and the One who was at the beginning with God at Creation. One of the problems that Laodecia had to contend with was an inadequate water supply. So a series of aqueducts brought water from the Hierapolis hot springs. By the time it arrived, the water was lukewarm and unfavorable.
Jesus described the Church in Laodecia in a way that they would understand, by telling them He wishes they were at least hot or cold, but because you are lukewarm about Me, like your water, it makes Me want to gag, and spit you out! You think you are rich, makers of healing eye salve, and luxurious black suits, but really, you are Poor, Blind and Naked!
Jesus then gives this church some advice,
Buy from Me, gold refined in the fire that you may be rich
That you may have white garments, to cover the shame of your nakedness, that it may not be revealed.
Annoint your eyes with spiritual healing so that you will really be able to see clearly.
Be serious and repent!
He continues with His advice and counsel
LOOK! WATCH! I AM standing at the door and knocking. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he will eat with me.
It is sad news when a church goes through the motions of being a church, but leave Jesus outside the doors.
Be serious and repent.
To the one who conquers, to the Overcomers, Jesus will give a place to sit with Him on His throne, just as He has overcome and is now sitting with His Father at the Throne of God.
As we come the the end of the letters to the seven churches, I saved one last thing that was mentioned to each of the Churches for last as they pertain to them all.
"He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit has to say to the Churches"
As the Sleigh Bells ring this Christmas Season, are you listening to what the Spirit has to say?

Thanks again for listening.
2020 has been strange to say the least.
The world looks different, more so than it ever has before.
Yet as a Nation, we all take a day together to stop and spend it with the ones we love and celebrate what we are thankful for.
As believers in Jesus we have a heart attitude of thanksgiving everyday, well, at we should.
My prayer is that you are well, and will be able to share your thoughts on Thankfulness to God in your home surrounded by your loved ones.
A few of my Podcast freinds have come along to help us begin the road of giving thanks.

3. Place fried noodles into deep casserole dish
4. Mix crispy onions into noodles.
5. Place slices of Havarti Cheese on top of noodles

May be prepared a day in advance and re heated in the oven.
Nope, not keto friendly but I make it once or twice a year and triple the recipe and share.
No longer will the world be the same. Covid, 2020, elections, wars, and rumors of wars, hand washing and social distancing on a world wide scale have thrust us closer to the reality of Revelation chapter 13. Tomorrow, Tuesday the 24th, 2020, we begin chapter one of Revelation. Do you realize that there is a blessing for those that read, listen and obey the book? Yes, there is. Who doesn't need a blessing right now? I'm no Theologian, or Scholar, but I am a Berean, one who reads the Bible and digs deep for it's meaning a message to a heart that loves God.
If you plan on walking this journey with myself and others, know that there may be bumps along the journey through the Book as we are mere humans and are not perfect. So if we see a discrepancy in the scriptures, before walking away, take time to double, triple check and then do it again to find the answer that God provides us, for He is perfect.
Have you ever heard the word Apocalypse applied to this Book? I have, but the true meaning of Revelation is not the fear that the word Apocolypse conveys, it is the "Unveiling" of Jesus Christ. Let you heart not be troubled, listen in and hear the unveiling of Jesus and watch God cast out fear from your heart. He did for me. I went from a little girl reading Revelation under the covers with a flashlight, shivering with fear, to a child of God, who is looking forward to the Bridegroom's return for His Bride. Jesus is all we need, now and forever more.

Listen to the Podcast HERE
Welcome to Moments with Moni, I’m so glad you are here!
With the weekend coming and the family spending more time together than ever before, let’s explore some topics that many of us could use help with.
The dreary cloudy days bring sadness to many. Families are under more stress than ever with less work, more bills, and having to learn how to Zoom School. We enjoyed a pajama day now and then back when our family Homeschooled, but dressed from the waist up for teachers meetings online, with the stress of accomplishing all of the assignments and conquering technology, after a sleepless night and a depressing day doesn’t help the old energy tank.
If you add the physical tank that is on low to the Spiritual tank that is on low, it can create a mess.
I have been wanting to share my story with you on the physical tank that was brought so low I almost check out and went to be with Jesus. However, He has other plans for me, so here I am to share my journey through MTHFR, Hypothyroidism, and Hashimotos.
Why in the world do doctors give these things such strange titles? After reading though medical research papers for over a decade, I can see that doctors are taught a completely different langue so that if the patient over hears a few of them sharing, we, the great unwashed, will not have clue as to what they are discussing.
The itisis’ are none other than inflammation of a particular part of the body. (which is another problem our medical system has. We are sent to different doctors for each part of our body that is having difficulty. Once there, we get 1-3 minutes with a doctor, he prescribes a drug or in the event the drugs on his list don’t cover the ailement, we are sent to a specialist, and or have surgery to cut out the problem)
Pretty soon we are on a long list of meds, and a long line of doctors appointments, and due to Covid, are on a long wait list to have procedures done.
We need our spiritual life to be healthy, and remaining in God’s word as we have in other podcasts and in our personal lives is most needed if we are going to be able to help others.
As mom’s and Grandmom’s we can easily set aside our own health for the sake of others. It’s easy to do for those you love. But, take a hint from the Stewardess who is giving your instructions before taking off on a flight. You know, the ones we never listen to.
Listen now, before placing the oxygen mask on your child, place the mask on yourself.
Did you hear me? You can’t help anyone else if you are passed out. So before you Zoom School all of your children, make sure you have time set aside to spend with Jesus even if you have to get up early to be with Him alone and let Him pour His love in to you so your love tank is full and you have more to share with others.
In the same way, exercise profits little, but if we care for the tent we have been given we may feel better and last a bit longer to enjoy this journey we call life.
Back in the year 2000 I had major health issues and shared this story in a blog post back in 2013:
This is long overdue, but my computer died awhile back and I had to figure out how to rescue this picture. I was amazed at the difference in myself when I saw the two bottom pictures next to each other. A short bit of history...
I did not know that I was born with a thyroid issue. My mother was told I had thyroid problems but..."that I would out grow them!" NOT....All through my life as far as we knew I was "fine" according to blood tests. My mom did her best and brought me back to the doctors and told them something was wrong....she hardly eats anything and gains weight, plus a whole host of what I now know as hypo symptoms. The stress and weight gain left me diabetic, but the diet changes helped me get that under control.ut as you can see by the pictures I was anything but "fine." In the past six months since my total thyroidectomy due to an enlarged thyroid gland with a huge goiter and nodules that were "suspicious" and so large that they were hindering my breathing and swallowing, I have learned alot about thyroid health. It was difficult to learn while the brain is in fog mode but so necessary to research on your own and stay active in your health care. Life could have been so much different from this vantage point, but hindsight is 20/20, and God is still in control so I trust that He will continue to hold me up through this life.
In about 2000 I realized I was gaining much weight, and really tried hard to find out what was going on. The blood tests were based only on the TSH test, so they were not revealing that the thyroid was struggling to survive.
I had developed severe allergies that left me with hives and anaphylactic shock so something had to be done. We had just finished homeschooling two sons, very active in life, and the daily care of my mother in law with Alzheimers fell to us. I had been trained as a CNA, specializing in Alzheimers care. I had also injured my knee around that time. The pain and stress of life as well as the "main gear" in my body not operating properly all my life and now sputtering for dear life left me overwhelmed to say the least, plus Diabetes was getting worse due the stress on the body. Yes stress can cause the sugars to go up too!
In the 2005 photo I can... now...see the hypothyroid face...puffy, thinning eyebrows, hiding the bald spot on the top of my head with thinning hair, extra weight gain no matter how well I ate. At that point I was unable to move without pain in every joint, was dizzy and off balance, had brain fog, and could not even concentrate enough to read a paragraph. I used to listen to the Bible being read online just so that I could still find comfort from God!
My mother in law died a few years ago, and my husband and I took some time to mourn and rest, and then in Jan of 2012 I was hit by a car in a local parking lot. It was a hit and run, but I wasn't injured. In Feb 2012 my car slid on the ice in an ice storm early one morning and I ended up spinning a few times and crossing the highway to end up stuck on a pole just before the car slid down the embankment into the rocks below, with the front of the car windshield inches away from a pine tree branch coming through the window into my face. After some chiropractic care, the Chiropractor thought there might be something else going on so he sent me to my physician.
My doctor scheduled an MRI and called me at home a few hours later and said...don't eat anything, how soon can you get to the hospital? We have an operating room ready for you. You have a gall bladder that is ready to burst with a gall stone stuck in the bile duct the size of a thumb! It was an awful surgery with a week long stay in the hospital and it really took a few months before I began to feel better. After some online research I realized that the difficulty breathing, the pain in my chest and the dizziness and balance issue as well as the pain at the top of my head were all from the gall bladder! Who knew? My arthritic type pain in the joints had dissipated after diet changes and some of the stress in my life being relieved over the years, so the pain I had before surgery was from my injured knee years ago and what I thought was "Seat Belt" trauma across my chest from the accident. The gall bladder did not issue me any warnings except a few days before the MRI. So a few months later, when I had one pain in my thyroid, I made an appointment.
My doctor schedule another MRI and Ultrasound and swallow test. Here we go again...second surgery of the year. I did have about a month to research before the surgery to make sure this is the right course of action. The thyroid had grown too large to take much more time to try to shrink it, and from what I had read, shrinkage of the thyroid doesn't usually happen.
The thyroid surgery went much better than the gall bladder surgery! I was preparing for the worst, but hoped for the best. The tissue was too large to get an accurate reading from a needle biopsy, but after surgery they confirmed there was no cancer! PS: if you find out someone may have thyroid cancer, please don't tell them that "if you do have cancer, it is the best cancer to get as it is treatable" It's still cancer.
It was a difficult year, after a few stressful life situations, but I see the car accident as God's mercy! If it weren't for the accident we would not have found the gallbladder problem before it was too late, or found the thyroid problem. I am now on Armour, a Natural Desicated Thyroid medication, 2 grains, and have my 6 month test coming up this week. No more insulin, just oral meds to help with sugars, but hoping that when my Armour med is correct I won't need those either although there are variables. It has been difficult to lose weight all my life. I am hoping to get to the appropriate Armour dose so that the gears will work properly again and the diet and exercise wisdom will once again work! I am not allowed to give up, for as long as I am on this earth, God has more in store for me! There is so much more to this life story that cannot be written in one post, so until we meet again....
Music & Worship
Matthew Chapter 24
More to come next week on the Podcast
It was a beautiful Sunday morning at the Church building this past week. A time of Worship and a time of listening to the book of Hebrews. “Let us hold on tight to the profession of or faith in Jesus, the better sacrifice.” It tied into the end of the Biblical Covenant Series that finished last week.
Since we have come to end, there must be a new beginning, which was announced on last Friday’s Kaffee Klatsch Episode.
The Covenant Series ended with an explanation of the time line of the Covenants, which led into a quick explanation of the End Times of this Church Age. While living in this part of History, we can see the world stage being set for the outplaying of the Revelation of Jesus Christ. To myself, and those of you that have read the back of the Book, we already have to answers to many of the worlds questions. We can see the cultural struggle of good and evil clashing before our very eyes. The foundational shift from Biblical thinking where God and His word is the ultimate authority still stand as truth. However, the mind shift of those who are attempting to crack this Biblical foundation, by
De-constructing and chiseling at it’s base is attempting to cause the continued erosion of the beautiful, abundant life that our God had intended back in the Garden of Eden in the beginning
the journey here on Moments with Moni, we will be making a huge leap from the beginning of time to the end of all Age, into the Book of Revelation!
I trust that you have found God’s word to be faithful and true through the account of the Covenants, and can now move onto more of God’s infallible word.
As we dive into Revelation, the plan is to take a literal, Historical approach, keeping in mind that this will not discount parable,s symbols, or figures of speech. Scripture, being God breathed, is infallible, however humankind is not. If we come across something that seems like a discrepancy, it is worth our while to dig deeper until we find what we might have overlooked.
The prophecy that we will be coming face to face with is a “forth telling of God’s word.” The de-bunking of Christianity tends to include new revelations that may not agree with the scriptures, and in turn will hold no water but will in the end, be burned up like straw.
Context is another extrememly important aspect of reading through the Bible. If we take a pre text and turn it into the main text, it is taken out of context.
Aside from the studying parameters, there is nothing on the christian calendar that has to happen before the great snatching away of God’s people. However, before you feel the need to turn this off due to disagreement, take the time to walk through the Covenant Series to understand the time frames of different people through world History and world future and beyond. Not all will be on the same path.
It is with all my heart I pray for the quick return of Jesus to take His Bride home, and yet, I know that the longer He takes to fullfill this snatching away, His mercy and patience plays out for more time for those who have not repented yet. With each new day on earth there is another opportunity to turn from our own ways, agree with God, and walk with Him, eventually, right into the heavenlies. So I try not to be impatient and use my time widely to share His message of Hope.
Revelation is the first book of the Bible that I ever read. It scared the begeebers out of me at 10 years old as I read it under the covers at night with a flashlight. Now some 50 years later, I can say that now that I have read and comprehend more of the rest oof all the Books in the Bible, Revelation brings much needed peace and tranquility even now as the world is in upheaval. Every age has had it’s uphealveals and here we are now amidst the Covid Catastrophe, when evryone could use peace and tranquility.
What does it look like on the world stage right now compared to God’s end time calender? The Nation of Israel has come together again back in 1948 although their eyes are still blinded to what God’s plan is. Apostacy grows stronger and stronger each day through false teachers that we have been warned against.
The Book of Timothy tell us the we are to understand this, that inthe last days there will come times of difficutly. For people will be lobers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusivie, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self control, brutal, not lovers of good, treacherous, reckless, swollrn with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying int’’s power. Avoid such people, For among them are those who creep into households and capture weak women, burdened with sins and led astray by various passions, always learning and necver able to arrive at the knowledge of the truth.
Many will fall away and many will lead others astray. Many false prophets will arise and lead many astray, and the love of many will grow cold. Another item on the checklist of the last days scenario is the absence of America. Scholars speculate as to how this may happen, but it’s all speculation. The view I hold to is that once Jesus comes for His Bride, and raptures us out of this country it will be weakend and the United States of Europe will become a stronger power on the world stage allowing for a one world Government as we will see in Revelation 13 in future. There may be other catastrophes that play into the picture we will see in Revelation and in our future. For now, it’s back to History to get a running start at our story...
A long time ago, not in fairy tale land, there lived a man called John. He was the one called the loved of Jesus, the one who cared for Jesus mother after Jesus was cruelly killed on a cross while they looked on.
The Roman government did not like the stories that John wrote and spread about the man they called Jesus. John being one of the sons of thunder, ended up on an island called Patmos in 95-96 AD after the deathof Jesus and wrote a Book that God inspired him to write. This Book is known as Revelation. Not Revelations but Revelation. For there is one thing that book reveals, and that is Jesus Christ! John wrote other books as well, like I II & III John encouraging little ones in Christ to love each other. However, while onthe Island of Patmos he penned Revelation.

Get your Chocolate Toffee Scone recipe below
Well Hello, I’m so glad you’re here!
Come on in and have a seat
The Kaffee is percolating, and the scones just came of the oven.
I’m so happy you are not allergic to nuts, because there are chocolate covered toffee chips in this recipe.
Why yes, I can send you home with a few extras for your husband, and a copy of the recipe.
First let me hang your coat up. It sure is cold out there. The winter weather advisory was right.
Thankfully you only live around the corner, so it’s shouldn’t be too hard for you get back home.
Well, I guess that is safer than driving today. I hear there is a huge back up of cars on the highway leading up the pass at stateline, with the roads as slick as an ice skating rink. People are stuck in their cars, and some have been waiting more than 4 hours to start moving again!
Perhaps we could pray for them before we begin.
Dear Jesus, thank you so much for your faithful mercy and kindness towards us. Even through the storms in life You bring peace, as we trust you. Please continue to watch over those stuck on the road, and get them all home safely. Thank you as well for this warm home and time to fellowship with a friend. Amen
What’s that? Oh, yes, thank you for asking. I felt so badly having to ask my friends to leave last week. The water main is now fixed! I still have pots and jars filled with water that I am using up since them, rather than wasting it. Thankfully it is now fixed before the deep freeze arrived today.
So tell me, what are the questions that you had regarding the New Covenant?
Oh, I thought you had a question, no that’s great, of course you can share it with a friend.
Who is your friend. Lily, in India? And she works where? Yes, I have heard of that butterfly farm. It’s just amazing to see the butterflies swarm. I’ve seen them swarm in CA a few times, but too cold here in Idaho to see them much. The Butterfly farm in India is beautiful place to visit.
No, I haven’t been there. That’s a bit far for me to travel, but I’m happy to hear you are sharing my podcast across the ponds, and over to India. I wonder what it’s like there right now. They are in the southern Hemisphere and in a different time zone so it must be Spring there to our winter, and day to our night. I hear the “air is full of spices” there, and many are turning to believing in Jesus there as well.
I’m not sure if their churches are underground. The people seem so beautiful to me, and of course they are to Jesus and He loves them just as much as He loves us.
Work in Progress Update:
The Song of Solomon Study Work Book.
SOS study workbook is not ready to read, but sos is so you can Read that, or here is another book recommendation for you.
Ann H Gabhart River to Redemption. I just started reading it on my Kindle and love her voice. She reaches back into the past and gives the main character in her book a beautiful way of sharing the past. (In fact I use the same voice in one of my novels that I’m working on, which is why I recognized it right away)
The story begins with a little girl who’s family dies of Chollera in the SOuth, and she narrowly escapes death because of the kind hearted slave of an Inn owner who didn’t seem to be affected by cholera. He buried all the dead, and kept a memory record of who and where he buried them. He and another slave at the Inn, who ran the kitchen, took little Adria in to their care, and nursed her back to health and they are in search of a guardian for her before the owner of the Inn, who just returned now that things are better in town, sends Adria away to a less than ideal situation. I was hooked by the writing on page one, and only 60 pages in but thought I would recommend the book called River to Redemption to you.
Another book recommendation on a more theological bent is Bible Prophecy Answer Book by Ron Rhodes. I have heard Ron Rhodes speak on the Janet Parschall show in the past. What I love about the book is that Ron gives you the solid prophecies of the Bible to give you the information without making your mind up for you. He leaves you digging into the Bible to find the truth for yourself.
Some of the chapters included:
How much more is this reality needed today!
Now that we are done with the Biblical Covenants, it's time to embark on the time line that those covenants play out, at the end of time.
The New Study beginning next week is Revelation.

Before the conversational Kovid Kaffee Klatsch with you and I begins, a short story relating the atmosphere of home life as I grew up.
Every Friday night as a child, I watched family, friends and neighbors discuss, even argue, politics and religion around the kitchen table, after the dinner meal. At the end of the meal, Mom would raise an eyebrow to the children and we knew it was time to clear the dishes and begin hand washing, drying and putting them away, for no one had heard of an automatic dishwasher back in the 1960’s. There was no need for one, with capable older children in the home, who knew their chores. Mom would put the little ones to bed, and after the dishes were done, the older children would be allowed to stay up a bit longer to read and witness, what is at present, not so commonplace.
More adults would arrive after work, and sit elbow to elbow around the formica topped, plastic table cloth covered table. The beer and wine were enjoyed but not abused, while cigarette smoke hung thick in the air. These discussions would continue into the early morning hours. Yet, as if magically, no one was bullied for a differing opinion. No one was threatened with bodily harm. No one cursed, in English. Curses were reserved for the original tongue, for greater emphasis.
Fifty years later, I am still teased for not cursing properly. Not that I attempt it on my own in either language, but when pushed because others require a good belly laugh, I’m told to not quit my day job.
No matter, I would rather be known for being incapable of such a talent as cursing, then win an award on the subject.
Beer, wine, cigarette smoke, and cursing are not a part of Kovid Kaffee Klatch, but the passionate nature of such discussions are still treasured Moments.
Today I am thankful for the "Air that I Breathe" today.
Let's step into "Other People's Shoes" and walk into 2020, Have you noticed the Election stalemate for now? Ja,ich auch. Yes, me too.
God has reminded me that I am to trust Him, to keep my eyes focused on Him, and He so kindly fills me with peace. No I don’t know how the election results will turn out. It looks like it may take weeks to find out ALL that is going on.
Just continuing to pray for evil to be exposed and good to take command. And then…..l am reminded of the words I shared on the last Biblical Covenant story regarding the Messianic or New Covenant.
After explaining that Jesus is all we need, The natural conclusion,
to the Biblical Covenant Series, was a time line, to remind us of the beginning and ending of each of the Covenants, which brought a time line into our minds eye.
So, rather than tip toeing from The End of the Church Age, in which we are living, I jumped into the next thing on God’s Calendar…yup, the snatching away of God’s people, and then 3 1/2 years of trouble and then 3 1/2 years of bigger trouble followed by, well you get the picture.
Now we are here on earth with a big X that marks our spot, then all of a sudden, those that love Jesus and have entered into a Covenant Relationship with Him are suddenly gone! Vanished off the face of the Earth. Not only that, but the Holy Spirit that resided and abided within God’s people that were Raptured, will be taken out of the Earth and the restraining power of Good over Evil will also be gone!
How’s that for a little lite conversation over Kaffee? Entschuldiung, Pardon me, but as an ENFP, it’s difficult or better said, I’m really not interested in chit chat. Yes as an Extrovert, I love to meet new people and I need to talk with them and dig deeper into who they are and what they are passionate about, just to be able to remember their names! I wanna know what makes you tick. So, after about 15 minutes of what I would call having a great conversation, the possible introvert on the other end feels like they have been under an FBI investigation. Too many strikes against me already, being a German, and ENFP.
So, I have learned to c a l m i t d o w n.
Would you like another cup of Kaffee? Ein stück Kuchen, a piece of cake?
I can see that it’s time to switch gears in this eclectic conversation.
Did you happen to catch the episode on Growing Old gracefully & Biblically? Well, that was for myself as much as you. Thanks for the request of the topic and I was so happy to be able to get Sue Donaldson to share and begin n our series with plenty of wise words for those that have ears to hear.
She also kindly offered plenty of resources from her website and I hope that you were able to take part in the Sale.
In fact the Kaffee Kuchen we are enjoying is one of the recipes she shared with me. Have you tried making it yet?
I’m glad you mentioned this to me the other day….that Jesus is still King and we can trust Him for He is good! He is the Way the Truth and the Life, and that He is the Bread of Life, and that we should taste and see that He is good!
It reminded me that I wanted to share my take on the Artesian bread recipe that I have been using for a few decades now.
Well, I have retired the recipe for myself because it is not low Carb, but for those that want a healthy bread with no added preservatives or chemicals it tastes great and very easy to keep on hand. Since I can’t hand you the loaf that I mad for you through the Microphone, I will post the recipe and photos on the Blog at Moments for Moni. Let me know how you enjoy the bread next time you leave me a voice message.
Oh, what’s that? You noticed the Submit comment button on the Blog. That’s great. Now you can leave me up to a 90 second voice message letting me know if you like the bread, and more importantly, use it for an upcoming episode. I’d like to have you tell me what you are Thankful for.
Mention your name or be anonymous, tell us the state or country you live in, and tell all the other listeners what you are Thankful for. I would like to add some of the replies to an upcoming Thanksgiving Episode. Thank you, you are appreciated!
You may not know this yet, but I’ve been Delving into learning Video, which is a whole other world compared to Podcasting which includes Lighting, cameras, lipstick, foregounds, backgrounds, green screens, apps, and more apps, movie editing programs, pictures and video, angles, and more lipstick, and then add in everthing you know about podcasting. Set up the entire room, get it just right, hit the record switch, and viola….the neighbor turns on some kind of really loud machine!
Really?? I had to laugh, I mean it’s pouring rain, so I knew it could’t be a lawn mower, or a snow blower, and the major part of all the house building is done in our immediate area. I ventured look out the window and only saw dark clouds and rain while I made my way to the front door.
There is it was in the neighbors yard….a shiny new tiller!
I guess that means more time for research.
Laundry and lunch time! Yes the go together. This is a home, not an office. The focus of a Homemaker and a Helpmate is on the family and the home. So, while the neighbor is making noise, my maids, the washing machine and dryer will be doing a bit of work of their own. After I get them started, then off to make lunch and plan dinner, in case I have another opportunity to record again this afternoon.
Do you ever have days like that? I’m sure many of us do, especially this year of Covid Kaffee Klatsches
I want to thank you, you know who you are, who held me accountable to my writing. Yes, that is why I started podcasting and looking into Video Podcasting in the first place. Those ENFP’s out there understand what I’m going through don’t you? So many irons in the fire. Not really to be busy for business sake, but to explore the world of creativity from so many different angles. Painting, writing novels, poetry, Podcasting, Singing, worshipping Jesus through song, housekeeping, homemaking,
Water emergency……gotta go. "Look out for Joy"
This Bread would go great with a bowl of "Biblical Chili"
